I’m nearly 25 and my skin is horrible. I never even had acne when I was in high school. My face is just getting worse and worse, I use different kinds of cleansers and cleaners but nothing seems to work, anyone have any ideas on how to clear this up?
Answer: The tricky part about acne is that the problem can actually become worse if you overmedicate. That's because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing a boost in your skin's Sebum (oil) production. This results in…you guessed it - more acne.
So what's the long term solution? Find gentler solutions or even natural acne cures that won't shock your body into more breakouts. Here's what I recommend:
- Use a glycerin based facewash. Glycerin is gentler and will balance the ph levels in your skin.
- For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry, switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to counterbalance the effect.
- Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently pat dry with a towel.
- Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based face wash drys you out too much.
- Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid excess sugar intake.
- If acne medication isn't working or causing new breakouts, try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed. This natural remedy works great.
- One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an “oatmeal mask”. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.
- Tea Oil works great on acne as well. Tea Tree Oil is an antifungal that’ll kill bacteria in the skin gently. You can pick it up at most drug stores and health food stores.
- Rubbing a slice of lemon on acne will dry out the pimple and balance the pH levels in the skin. Some people don't enjoy smelling like a lemon but the solution does work.
- Put a dab of rubbing alcohol on pimples after you pop them. The alcohol will kill bacteria, shrink the pimple and dry out oily pores.

Answer: Go to a dermatologist, they'll prescribe you with pills to take which they seem fit for your particular case. After 2 years of being on fairly strong medecine which didn't really do the job, my dermatologist suggested I go on the pill. I've been on the pill for 3 months now and my skin is looking superior, but it's still not totally healed. My skin isn't so bad anyway but it does put a downer on my confidence sometimes so I'm desperate to get rid of it! I was told about a certain set of creams called “proactiv” which apparently work really well. I have yet to try it but I definitely intend to do so!
Keep using creams and gels on top of whatever your doctor prescribes you, and good luck! I know how you feel!!
Answer: Arbonne International makes a much healthier acne line. It uses a salicylic acid instead of a benzoyl peroxide. It has zinc for faster healing, and a vitamin supplement to push toxins out of your skin. It also comes with a 45 day money back guarantee. Whatever you select to use, stick with it for at least two months. Your skin is going to go through some changes before you know if it works. Ideal of luck!
Answer: Cucumber - mashed or in juice form - can be applied to sensitive skin; unlike many other acne home remedies it doesn't dry your skin, on the contrary, it acts like a very gentle cleanser and moisturizer. Answer: Try going to the dermatologist. I went to the dermatologist and they gave me medication for my acne. It has helped so much and i am not even finished with it. Although it is rather high-priced.
