I wash my body with dove soap twice a day. I was just wondering if washing it twice can cause acne. I'm getting acne on my back and neck.
Answer: Over two times a day is too much.
Answer: Acne is actually caused by hormones, washing beyond a certain level will not decrease the number of spots caused specifically by hormones. Topical creams and lotions will help with acne as it did with my acne (as well as my brothers). You can dry the skin out using strong soaps too often, which will only decrease the condition of the skin and potentially make your acne look worse due to increased redness. Try using just clearasil, or a mild facial soap such as those designed by Simple for your face, back and neck.
See the physician. Once your skin feels well moisturized, yet clean, there’s nothing more you can do other than dietary alterations and prescription treatments.
Answer: hmm.. depends on your skin type and sensitivities, Dove is usually a pretty gentle soap/moisturizer but you can try nutrogena body wash instead, you could get a reaction to various soaps, Dove is light and normally oil free, but I know I’ve had a Reaction in the past to dove products.. deodorants and facial moisturizer, so just try a few other options go for the lighter, oil free products made for sensitive skin, it is unlikely you are over washing, especially if you are active.
Answer: Probably you have dandruff. You cannot get acne from WASHING yourself. You can get acne only by NOT washing yourself. If you DON'T get acne using a different soap, then probably you’re getting allergies from dove soap. If it still persists after changing your soap, cut your hair and wash it regularly, if dandruff is the case. Good luck in getting rid of your acne.
Answer: Try using Head & Shoulders Shampoo. It might sound crazy, but it does work for many people. Remember it is designed to treat dandruff, which is a skin issue, not a hair issue.
I was skeptical, as I've tried countless products over the years with less than spectacular results, but it worked for me. I saw noticeable improvements the next day, and within a week i was almost clear.
If you use it, purchase the “Classic” Head & Shoulders. Not the 2 in 1, not the scented. Use it like a body wash in the shower. Wash with it for about 2 minutes. Rinse, then dry off.
Answer: Acne is usually caused by dirt getting into the pores. Ergo, washing does not hurt. However, acne can also be aggravated by dry skin. Washing with certain soaps can dry the skin out.
Maybe try another soap, something with moisturizer in it and see how it goes.
Do other Yahooers agree with me?
Answer: Acne is not caused by over washing your skin. If there are parts of you that is getting acne prone, then I advocate you use a specified acne body wash. Like something from Neutrogina or however its spelt. Just make sure that you put body lotion on after your daily showers. You will be able to keep moisture in and get rid of acne. Take as many showers as you please! =)
Answer: Of course not. I take a bath twice a day, sometimes thrice a day since I lived in a tropical island.
It doesn't cause acne, however, if your skin is not comfortable with that soap, then there's a possibility that you'll have rashes.
Answer: No. But the second time you use tiny soap as it will not anyway remove any dirt as the first bath itself would have done it.
Two times bath rejuvenates your body and is refreshing. I do it for so many years and have no problems till this day.
Answer: Acne isn't cause by dry skin or washing with soap to much, it is caused by excess sebum secretion. The ideal way to combat this is with a salicylic acid formulation with proper nutritional support from diet and supplementation.
Answer: Thats a lie, don't worry it does not cause cancer and it doesn't cause acne! Dirt is actually what causes acne & pimples so keeping your body clean will minimise the chances of getting acne
Answer: The more you wash the more your irritating your acne and can make it worse….speak to your doctor!
Answer: no it does not cause acne
Answer: No, it just causes cancer
