How great is Yaz at combating acne?
Jun 28, 2008
My dermatologist would always ask me if my skin gets progressively worse when my cycle arrives. I hadn't been taking notice, so I refused birth control until I could pay attention. Since then, my prescriptions have expired and I did note that I experience breakouts during that time of the month. The commercial says it controls moderate acne, sooo .. And can she prescribe it or do I have to go to a primary doctor?
Answer: This product is horrible. Caused me to break out worse than before, did NOT help my periods to be lighter and actually made them worse and gave me explosive diarrhea. I can't believe they actually try to hock this stuff on Television like it's a wonder drug. I'd rather get shot than take it again
Answer: Doesn't help that much, but might help for some people. Any birth control affects different women very differently, & all have side effects. Yaz made me gain 20 pounds, & bleed about half the time, getting my period at random times or for weeks on end, however for some people it works great. All you can do is research it, try it out, & if you experience side effects or it's not helping your acne try something else.
Don't now if a dermatologist can or would prescribe it, you could just ask her. You may have to see a regular physician.
Answer: I took Yaz for about 2 weeks. Mine was for cramps. I gained 10 lbs in the first week, and it made me act like the devil. I would reccomend something else.
