I've had acne for four years and I've tried proactiv, but it didn't help. any recommendations?

Answer:
hi,

um… you shouldn't use any spot creams on your face (it is your face right) they work temporarily but the moment you stop using them your spots will come back. I used to have spots on ma face, but they're gone now.

OK, so lets get started:

1)every night and each morning, wash your face with HOT water (this will open up your pores). Then wash your face with any facial wash, but make sure you wash it ALL out. Then wash your face with hot water again. Then as soon as you've done this wash your face with COLD water.

2) make sure you never dry your face, let it dry naturally.

3)only in the day, put as tiny as possible lotion on your face (ideally an oil free one usually is the best, but i use Johnson's baby lotion-its gentle on skin)

4)try not to touch your face, unless you’ve to, like when your washing it.

if you stick to these your spots should start clearing up in the next few days, and in about 2 Weeks it will be a massive noticeable difference :-)

Answer:
The tricky part about acne is that the problem can

actually become worse if you overmedicate. That's

because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing

a boost in your skin's Sebum (oil) production. This

results in…you guessed it - more acne.

So what's the long term solution? Find gentler

solutions or even natural acne cures that won't

shock your body into more breakouts.

Here's what I recommend…

Glycerin based facewash:

Glycerin is gentler and will balance the

pH levels in your skin.

Antibacterial Soap:

For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap

to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,

switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to

counterbalance the effect.

Don't Overwash:

Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently

pat dry with a towel.

Moisterize:

Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based

face wash drys you out too much. I like using

Aveeno moisterizers personally.

Change Your Diet:

Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid

excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.

This is because the food you put into your body has a

direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating

the right foods, you'll minimize oily skin, thereby

preventing breakouts.

Egg Whites:

If acne medication isn't working or causing new breakouts,

try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.

This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged

pores and clearing up the pimple.

Oatmeal Masks:

One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an

“oatmeal mask”. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while

simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.

Try this for a few days straight. Wear the oatmeal mask

for 10 minutes, then wash off. You'll have a nice

glowing complexion right after.

Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria

in the infection. The citric acid also balances your skin's

pH levels to prevent future breakouts.

Honey:

Yes, despite your initial beliefs, honey is FANTASTIC for

skin care. Actually, you might notice on many moisterizers

that honey is an ingredient. Much like the lemon solution

above, honey balances the skins pH levels. Test out this

sticky remedy by dabbing pimples with honey and leaving it

on for 5-10 minutes. You can apply full honey masks to your

face but I prefer the oatmeal masks instead.

They're less messy.

your diet plays a key role. It's very hard, and requires a lot of self control, but your skin will look great, your body will be in awsome shape, and the compluments will come pouring in. No oily foods like pizza, or french fries. Nothing deep fried, like chiken fingers and stuff like cheese burgers are donts. This is the only way, the list of things to avoid will exceed what to eat, but trust me- it is so worth it, just wait until those first “whoah you look great” compliments, double takes in the hall way, and jelous glares. Eat whole food- only wheat of rye bread, eat berries, no nuts (oils), salds, greens, PLEANTY of vegetables, and research which vegetables and fruits are the best for your complexion and acne, you'll be surprised on how your diet change will work a 100x more effectivley then any clean&clear prodcut from the drug store, or even high end “solutions” from pricey stores and spas. It's tough work, but you'll look and feel awsome!

wash your face with cold water each morning and each night, and put on face lotion, do this for the rest of your life and in no time your skin will be clean and stay clear, and if it is really bad…you can go to the doctor and he/she will prescribe a special lotion just for you to help you to get rid of them, my sis suffers with the same thing but know she’s clean and clear because of that special lotion the doctor gave her, each ones skin is different so that's probably why proactive did not work for you, OH! and DO NOT touch your face with your hands!!!! that’s sometimes the reasons why people even get acne, hands are the most filthiest parts of your body so try not to touch your face, GOOD LUCK, hope i helped :)

Answer:
I know you’ve probably heard it a million times, but wash your face. try at least twice a day. once in the morning and once before bed. try an exfoliating face wash at least once a week to loosen dead skin cells that could be blocking your pores. I tried proactiv and it didn't really work for me either. I did go to the dermatologist and he prescribed me some stuff that worked quite well. If you’ve insurance, it should cover it. I only had to pay my copay. He prescribed me Zaclir, differin and clindagel.

Answer:
Don't use rubbing alcohol , it will make acne worse. Also don't was your face too much. you wouldn't want to dry it out. Use

oxygen soap or lye soap, the mild kind. it's inexpensive and not hard to find. i found it at my local dollar store. you can look at a drug store or wall-marts. way not they seem to have every thing. though proactive doesn't always work on each one. it depends on your skin type. like sensitivity.but try my suggestions. they may work.but the thing that i don't get about lye soap is they it leave your skin feeling dray and tight at first

but oily latter on. the reason way i recommend this treatment, well along time ago the reason folks didn't have problems with acne is because they used this soap.and its good for a lot of other things. it say so on the pack, box, wrapper, or what ever it come in. i promise this will work. plus it also depends on your diet. try it and email me the results.

Answer:
Proacive didnt help me either. What I did was wash my face with soap and water really well, and then squeeze as many zits as i could. I know your not supposed to, but thats just s scam so you think you have to bu products. After I squeeze them, I rub vigourously with rubbing alcohol. If yout dont have this, oyu can use regular booze, or cologne-both high in alcohol. If your using booze, dont use beer or something flavoured. Us plain vodka, which has a high alcohol content. After this, your pores will close.

So, youve squeezed out all the puss and bacteria, and youve closed the pore. Now, it will stop swelling, and not be able to fil with pus again. You can also just use plain alcohol in the moring to get rid of bacteria.

Answer:
aloe Vera can help heal it swiftly and it can help moisturize the skin. All you have to do is dab it on and let it do its thing! use it as a spot treatment or as a face mask.. you can leave it on all night (or day) !! i wouldnt use toothpast, because it may dry up the pimple, but it leaves a nasty red spot where your pimple use to be.. (chemical burns)

No BUTTER for you !!!

Lots of Hygiene, and when I say a lot I mean A LOT!!
